Higher National Certificate / Diploma (HNC/D)
Engineering (General)

Higher nationals are key applied qualifications respected across the UK and in demand from employers. Diploma holders may be eligible to apply straight to the third year of a BEng degree programme with US

The HNC program is designed to enable you to progress from Level 3 onto a nationally recognised Level 4 qualification.

We’ll give you opportunities to develop higher-level skills, plus a range of techniques and attributes essential for successful performance in working life, enabling application for professional recognition as an Incorporated Engineer.

You’ll study foundational engineering topics, as well as more specialist subjects including mechanical principles, quality & process improvement and operations & plant management.

Proceeding to a Level 5 Diploma will give you skills broadly equivalent to the second year of a degree. You’ll study key engineering subjects, as well as professional engineering management, advanced manufacturing and lean manufacturing.
