Free Christmas market brings festive fun for families to Bury St Edmunds
Eastern Education Group (EEG), a leading provider of education across East Anglia, is set to bring festive cheer to Bury St Edmunds this month with a free Christmas Market at its University and Professional Development Centre.
The event will take place on Saturday 22 November, from 10am to 4pm, with the public invited to attend and enjoy accessible on-site parking.
Visitors will be able to explore a wide range of activities throughout the day, including seasonal food and drink, live performances from the Capella Choir and local musicians, and an extensive selection of stalls from local businesses, staff and students. Families can also take part in pre-bookable creative workshops via Eventbrite, such as Wreath Making, Stained Glass Decorations and Festive Print Making.
One of the highlights of the event will be the immersive Santa VR experience in the University Centre’s award-winning XR Lab - a unique festive attraction set among sparkling Christmas trees that promises to be especially popular with families. Guests can also enjoy a live cookery demonstration from West Suffolk College Hospitality Manager, Aramark.
Liz Creasy, Head of Commercial Training at Eastern Education Group and organiser of the event, said: “In the spirit of giving, we are proud to support local charities. Several generous businesses, including Sizewell C, Greene King, MSC, Taylor Wimpey, and TMJ Interiors, have sponsored Christmas trees for our grotto, with all profits donated to St Nicholas Hospice and East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices. We hope to welcome as many people as possible for a festive experience that brings our community together while supporting two fantastic causes.”
The Christmas Market offers the perfect opportunity to shop for gifts, enjoy seasonal treats and soak up the festive atmosphere - all at a free, family-friendly event.
