Art fair puts student talent in the shop window
A group of local students got to show off their artistic talents when they hosted a fair at Claire’s House in Bury St Edmunds over the weekend.
The young people who are all studying on art courses with University Studies at West Suffolk College created an event called curiosities @ Claire’s House.
They were joined by former alumni from the university art and design course who also showcased their work during this occasion.

All learners and former students involved set up stands selling products that included prints, sculptures, jewellery and t-shirts.
And Joel Millerchip - an art lecturer who works for University Studies at West Suffolk College - hailed this a great success. Joel said: “The event was brilliant. All students created a collection of high-end commercial work that connected with the clientele of the art fair and I'm happy to say all students made a well-earned profit.
“Overall, I'm very proud of all the students and alumni that made the fair what it was, a high end, well planned and welcoming place filled with commercial work from young local artists.
“A big thank you to Claires house pottery studio for being a tremendous host,” he added.
